Welcome to the October edition of TA Talk.
Last month we announced the launch of the ATAPS Pilot Program in Schools and received exceptional interest from schools wanting to participate. The high level of response illustrates that schools around Australia are looking for a performance and professional growth framework that can assist them to create a high performance culture, and build the professional capacity of their team.
The first of a series of three workshops is scheduled for this term, when support staff in pilot schools will learn to apply the Australian Teaching Assistant Professional Standards to reflect on their practice and set professional growth goals.
Another aspect of professional growth that has caught our attention is the number of staff in member schools that participated in professional learning in October, and to date we have issued 370 certificates of completion.
Certificates are issued for verified ATA professional learning recorded by members in their Continuing Professional Development Diary, and we can now provide schools with a report of verified PD for all staff linked to your school membership. This is really useful for performance and professional development planning.
Lastly, this month we facilitated a very popular web event with Jade Hand from The Inclusive School on MTSS - A whole-school approach to inclusive education for all students, and will deliver our last event of the year on 14 November when guest presenter Dr Elizabeth Murray, Senior Lecturer, School of Education at Charles Sturt University joins us to talk about pathways to teaching for teacher aides.
We hope you can join us!
Warm regards
Mandy and Stella
