Better Together: Strengthening Teacher-TA Partnerships for Inclusive Practice within an MTSS Framework
With teacher assistants (TAs) making up one third of Australia’s school education workforce, collaboration between teachers and TAs is critical to achieving inclusive education goals. As schools implement Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to meet the academic, behavioural, and social-emotional needs of all students, the quality of teacher-TA partnerships directly influences the effectiveness of support at every tier.
This webinar, led by guest presenter Dr Claire Jackson, explores research-informed approaches to strengthening collaboration between teachers and TAs within an MTSS framework. It examines what effective partnership looks like in practice, including shared planning, clear communication, and purposeful deployment, and how these elements contribute to equitable, high-quality learning for every student.
Drawing on Australian and international evidence, the session highlights strategies to enhance inclusion, improve classroom impact, and foster a stronger sense of shared professional responsibility among teachers and TAs.
This webinar will be presented at 3:30 pm AEST. Check the start time for your location, to avoid disappointment.
