Good news! In March we submitted over 400 responses from our polls and surveys to help shape the future of teacher aide training. We are thrilled to let you know that Skills IQ were very impressed by both the quality and quantity of your feedback and have informed us that they are using the data to help finalise Draft 2 of the Education Support qualifications. Keep an eye on their website as Draft 2 will be open for review during May.
Our literacy series which runs until June is proving very popular with members, and to show you why, we will be publishing a preview of these resources on the ATA home page. The first is on helping students build vocabulary and is available now!
This year we decided to add an element of fun to our member web events by having a monthly competition. The winner receives a monogrammed ATA polo shirt of their choice.
In keeping with the vocabulary theme, participants were asked to create a new word that represents something they do as a teacher aide.
Congratulations our April winner, Katie, who submitted the word rephrasinator: a master at rephrasing the same question multiple times to enable a student to understand.
This month's newsletter is a day early, as tomorrow is ANZAC Day, a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand to commemorate the women and men who have served our country. Lest we forget.
Warm regards
