What people think of Australian Teacher Aide

This organisation will provide a fantastic opportunity for teacher aides to connect with each other through a secure and friendly network. In my years of working with teacher aides I know that many feel isolated from their peers, frustrated by the lack of professional support they receive and so many work far beyond the hours and job description to which they are employed. During my time in a classroom and as a school leader the contribution teacher aides made to the lives of the students in our care was enormous. Australian Teacher Aide will enable these invaluable staff in our schools to learn from each other, solve problems together and gain insight into the work of other teacher aides. Well done ATA!

Congratulations to ATA founders, Stella Liliendal and Mandy Bell, for establishing a professional learning association that supports the important role of teacher aides in our schools.

Stella and Mandy have a proven reputation for providing exemplary programs for teacher aides, and I have no doubt they will continue to lead the way with ATA’s innovative approach of providing both professional learning, and opportunities to network and collaborate.

As an online professional learning association, Australian Teacher Aide provides for the first time, a vehicle for classroom para-professionals to share and learn together across borders. Professional development opportunities vary widely between Australian states and territories. This association offers para-professionals the opportunity to write about their own knowledge and experiences for the benefit of others, and to embrace best practice in their field as demonstrated through quality resources tailored to their needs. Students will reap the rewards. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
