This year you have once again nominated exceptional teacher aides and teacher aide teams, working in State, Catholic and Independent Schools across Australia, who are making a positive difference to student learning and wellbeing.

  • The Australian Teacher Aide of the Year State Finalists and Highly Commended nominees will be announced on Thursday 14 August 
  • The 2025 Australian Teacher Aide of the Year and Australian Teacher Aide Team of the Year will be announced on Thursday 4 September, during Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week 

Whilst our team and panellists are busy reading and shortlisting this year’s nominees, we invite you to read about our 2024 award winners, Australian Teacher Aide of the Year, Kim Diegutis from Middlemount Community School in Queensland  and the Australian Teacher Aide Team of the Year, the Education Assistant Team from Ocean Reef Senior High School in Western Australia.

Kim Diegutis, a Teacher Aide at Middlemount Community School, was named the 2024 Australian Teacher Aide of the Year.  

Kim is an integral part of the Middlemount Community School team. She demonstrates exceptional dedication and professionalism through her provision of targeted literacy, numeracy and wellbeing support for prep students, including those diagnosed with additional needs.

The Education Assistant Team from Ocean Reef Senior High School in Western Australia, were named the 2024 Australian Teacher Aide Team of the Year.  

The EA team at Ocean Reef Senior High School support students who participate in challenging ATAR university entrance courses, as well as alternative endorsed programs such as ASDAN for students who find the mainstream curriculum challenging.

Highly Commended Teams, Highly Commended Individuals and Nominees will receive a personalised certificate acknowledging their achievement.

All Winners, Finalists and Highly Commended awardees will be featured on our website.

** School membership is valued up to $1,700.00 depending on the size of the school. Winning schools that are already Australian Teacher Aide members will receive a complimentary renewal of their annual school membership.
