The following resources are available in the Professional Development library under the interest group ATAPS.

ATAPS Professional Growth Map

The ATAPS Professional Growth Map is a visual tool that sets out the Professional Growth Expectations for each Standard.

The expectations are organised under the four Professional Growth Stages: Developing, Proficient, Accomplished and Advanced, and provide teaching assistants with a guide to identify their increasing knowledge, practice and engagement. Each expectation begins with a key verb to help teaching assistants determine their stages of professional growth and set aspirational goals.

A teaching assistant is most likely to be at more than one stage of professional growth, depending on their experience, the nature of their role, and their qualifications. It is also important to note that the four professional growth stages do not correlate to years of service and are not linked to any industrial agreement.

ATAPS Companion Guide (Member only resource)

The ATAPS Companion Guide is designed to support teaching assistants to use ATAPS for their performance and professional growth.

It provides information about the knowledge and skills required to achieve the Developing, Proficient, Accomplished, and Advanced professional growth expectations for each standard, as well as exemplars of practice.
