DIRECTORS' MESSAGE

Welcome to the June edition of TA Talk.

Well, here we are at the middle of the school year, already!

As the year marches on, we have commenced our webinar and content planning for 2025, and we invite you to have your say. Please take a few minutes to complete the short survey included in this month’s issue of TA Talk to assist us prioritise our live web event topics, and source presenters for the coming year. Providing us with your feedback helps us keep our content offering relevant, whilst ensuring you continue to have easy access to professional learning that supports your learning and development needs. It’s a win-win!

We have noticed a spike in ATA professional learning activity over the past month, as schools make productive use of staff and pupil free days to enable TA teams time for professional development. We are always delighted to see such a high level of activity, and we ask for your patience as we verify and process the 600+ certificate requests over the coming few weeks.

We are also working towards our goal of publishing the Australian Teaching Assistant Professional Standards (ATAPS) by the end of this year. Our team is busy collating all the feedback from our pilot schools, in preparation for a final meeting with the ATAPS industry reference group, prior to finalisation and publication of this important framework.

Last week, Kinross Wolaroi School became our first member school to renew for a ninth consecutive year! This is an outstanding achievement, and we are most impressed with the commitment shown to the education support team and their professional growth, under the leadership of Mary Griffith.

School holidays are upon us. We hope wherever you are in Australia that you have a relaxing and sunshiny winter break. See you in term 3 :)

Warm regards

Stella and Mandy
