Passionate Learning Support professionals are invited to apply for the position of Secondary School Teacher’s Aide. This is a part-time position (Mon-Thurs) working in Term 3, 2025 only.

Under this framework, staff work in a collaborative and collegial environment to design experiences that challenge, extend and enrich student learning.

The successful applicant will be able to:

·        Work collaboratively with teaching staff to care, supervise and support students.

·        Work independently with small groups of students to assist and maximise their learning.

·        Display patience and compassion when supporting students and working with parents.

·        Exhibit an appreciation of how to support students with various needs.

·        Engage warmly and constructively with students and parents.

·        Work collaboratively and productively with their colleagues across the wider Secondary School community.

·        Complete tasks as requested by the Head of Learning Support, High School Executive, or class teachers.

·        Support students with learning, behavioural, or social difficulties in the classroom.

·        Follow instructions from the Head of Learning Support about which students need help and how to support them.

·        Help students meet classroom expectations for learning and behaviour.

·        Let staff know if there are any concerns about students.

·        Supervise short breaks for students who need time away from class.

·        Work closely with teachers to provide support with minimal disruption to lessons.

·        Assist with computer-based learning activities as directed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

·        Formal qualifications directly relevant to the position would be an advantage.

·        Experience working in a high school.

·        Proven experience of working with students with organisational and behavioural challenges in a mainstream classroom would be highly valued.
