Welcome to the February edition of TA Talk.

DIRECTORS' MESSAGE

Image

February has been a busy month for us with many new schools joining the ATA community. We enjoy our chats with you during orientation and learn so much about your professional development needs.

Last week, we kicked off the first webinar of our 3-part trauma series, Providing Psychological First Aid for Children and Adolescents Exposed to Trauma. Participants said that the strategies presented by Alexina Baldini, were practical and could be applied to many different support situations. Alexina also used her expertise in the area of trauma, to answer questions from participants and generously provided a wealth of useful resources. If you haven't registered for the next 2 webinars in this series, make sure you save yourself a place.

In case you missed our announcement recently, our signature program, Effective Teacher Aide Practices for Schools (eTAPS), is now complete. This is good news for everyone, but especially for staff of member schools who will continue to have access to the program. Please read the important announcement below for details regarding limited-time access to eTAPS for individuals and training organisations.

Lastly, thank you to those schools that have returned their 2020 staff lists allowing us to update your school membership accounts. If you are the administrator of your school membership, please return your updated staff list as soon as possible.

Warm regards

Stella and Mandy

eTAPS - A Professional Development Program for Schools

Image

Limited time remaining to view eTAPS

In 2017, we launched Effective Teacher Aide Practices for Schools (eTAPS), a ground-breaking professional development program, designed to assist teacher and teacher aide teams to work together to support student learning.

At the time, we announced that this program, valued at over $1500, would be temporarily available to all our members whilst in production, and in return we received some useful feedback that helped develop the modules.

At the start of this year we finally uploaded the last module, and now that eTAPS is complete, the trial period is about to end.

After Friday 17th April, eTAPS will be available exclusively to school members, along with the updated Facilitator's Guide which will have a detailed section on how to facilitate eTAPS professional development in schools.

If you do not belong to a member school, we hope you will take advantage of this last opportunity to view eTAPS while it is still available.

If you read just one book a day to your child, they will have been read 1,825 books by their 5th birthday.
