DIRECTORS' MESSAGE

Welcome back to the new school year. We hope that you are rested, and ready for 2022.

With the experience of hindsight, schools seem well prepared for the changes COVID is once more bringing to the learning environment.

We have not only noticed an early uptake of new school memberships, but also a flood of requests for certificates from members who are completing online professional development from home and school.

If you have been considering a school membership, but are currently juggling too many start of year demands, complete the online school membership application, and we will save you time by setting everything up on your behalf.

This year our fabulous line up of live web events kicks off with a timely presentation, Using Peer Review for Performance Development and Planning, by Ben Pollard, who is the Business Manager at Beaudesert State High School in Queensland.  Ben will show us how to involve teacher aides in the planning of their own professional development through peer observation, and set goals to improve performance.

As all our live webinars are recorded and uploaded to our professional development library, members can access them on demand.

Lastly, we would like to welcome our newest team member, Tamara Couacaud, who will be assisting you with membership and customer support. As the former Learning Support Coordinator at Chairo Christian School in Victoria, Tamara brings extensive experience to the ATA team.

We wish you, and your school community, a safe and healthy Term I.

Warm regards

Stella and Mandy

This is a great reminder as we enter Term 1 2022, with additional pressures being placed on students, staff and parents. For example, mask wearing, mandated for students in some states and territories, will almost certainly raise levels of anxiety for some. Kindness, patience, empathy and consideration will be needed in bucket loads. We know, you've got this!
